Offering World-class Curriculum and Pedagogical Approaches

US Common Core State Standards (CCSS)

These educational standards describe what students should know and be able to do in each subject in each grade. In California, the State Board of Education decides on the standards for all students, from kindergarten through high school and ensures that all students are meeting the standards.

Having the common standards helps all students get a good education, even if they change schools or move to a different state. Teachers, parents and education experts designed the CCSS to prepare students for success in college and the workplace.

National Curriculum for England (NCfE)

The National Curriculum for England aims to provide students with an introduction to the essential knowledge they need to be educated citizens. The curriculum provides an outline of core knowledge around which teachers can develop exciting and stimulating lessons to promote the development of students’ knowledge, understanding and skills. Schools are required to follow the statutory national curriculum which sets out in programmes of study the subject content for core subjects taught to all students.

The National Curriculum of England is used by the vast majority of schools in England. It is a very well-established and recognised curriculum, often characterized by the terms ‘broad and balanced’ as, up to the age of fourteen, students study the full breadth of subjects that are needed to help them develop into well-rounded citizens of the future. The curriculum focuses on delivering high academic standards. It is highly structured, from the Early Years to age 16+, with progress measures throughout this time, so teachers and parents know exactly how well a student is achieving, and how well s/he is being taught.
